USS NORALUS

2298: The Noralus crew takes temporary command of a derelict Constitution-refit vessel, the Excalibur. Not able to return home, they help stop a plot started by Romulans in their time to change history, giving the Romulan empire an advantage. The plot is foiled and history changes very little.

2375: The Dominion War ends

2377: USS Voyager returns to the Alpha Quadrant via a Borg transwarp conduit.

2379: USS Enterprise-E engages Shinzon and the Remans; USS Titan is launched under Captain William Riker

2380: Spatial distortions in Sector 001 cause mass hysteria as Earth is enveloped in a shattered time frame. Order is restored by an unknown force, and the incident never reoccurs.

2382: The Borg invade Romulan space. Mass exodus from the Empire occurs. Klingons decline to aide fight off the Borg; the Federation agrees to help as a protective measure for Earth, which would be targeted if the Borg got a foothold in that region of space.

2383: Borg have yet to assimilate or even reach Romulus or Remus, but over 3,000,000 Romulans and Federation species have been assimilated/killed in the ongoing battle.

2384: The Borg threat in the Romulan Empire is eliminated, but tensions arise between the Federation and Romulans when the Romulans refuse to give over a portion of space that they had promised the Federation in return for aide in their battle against the Borg. Outposts are set up on both sides of the disputed territory, but the Federation refuses to forcibly take the territory.

2385: The Romulan Star Empire cuts diplomatic ties with the Federation.

2388: A Romulan Cadet is brutally murdered at the Academy and serves as a grim reminder of the tensions between the two powers.

2390: A group of Vulcans who had been in previous years working for reunification but were now sympathetic to the Romulan cause briefly seize power on Vulcan. In an unrelated incident, mysterious transmissions are received from two galaxies away and scientists estimate that they were sent roughly 4,000,000 years ago. This sparks a temporary interest in other galaxies within Starfleet.

2392: Romulan dissidents attempt to assassinate the President of the Federation but fail. The Romulan Empire breaks their 7 year silence with the Federation to condemn the incident.

2393: A mysterious outbreak of an airborne virus kills nearly 1,000 people in London, on Earth. The USS Noralus is launched.

2394: Tensions between Starfleet and the Romulans reach alarmingly high levels when the USS Noralus discovers that the Bortas, a cargo ship, is illegally transporting materials to the Romulans to aide in building the Phoenix weapon.

War with the Romulan Star Empire breaks out on Stardate 100430.23. The USS Noralus is reassigned to the Beta Quadrant for a mission of strategic surveying on Stardate 100502.18.

2395: The Noralus is lost to the Romulan Star Empire. The crew is then stranded on an uncharted planet. After weeks of tough survival and time alone, the Noralus returns to retrieve them, under the solo command of Commander Teigan.

The Borg attempt a new invasion, this time planting a foothold in the Alpha Quadrant. The Borg fleet is eventually repelled after several Klingon and Federation fleets, normally situated along the Romulan order, were ordered to stop the menacing threat. The USS Noralus was lost in an engagement with the Borg.

The crew, after a transfer to a Defiant class vessel, accidentally cross a temporal threshold, finding themselves in 2298. They successfully stop a Romulan ploy to start a war in the past between the Federation and the Klingon empire. The crew return to their time with the Constitution-Refit USS Excalibur.

The Noralus crew settles back in and is debriefed after their travel through time. Upon their return, they are assigned a new vessel: a Galaxy-class ship. After a special dispensation, the new vessel was renamed to the USS Noralus.

2396: With their new Galaxy class ship, the crew is put on full active duty once again. Soon, however, the ship is sent as part of a task force to defeat Borg remnants that were not destroyed during their attack months earlier. The Noralus helps to lead a planetary assault against a fortified Borg position. Once most of the last Borg vessels and drones have been destroyed, they encounter an assimilated ship: the former Noralus, Sovereign-class. Though the ship isn't much more than a shell, the Borg had installed weaponry. After a short moment of nostalgia, the Galaxy-class vessel destroys the other, the crew finally saying goodbye to the ship they once called home.

The Federation moves towards peace with its neighboring allies, particularly the Romulan Empire, with whom they've been in conflict with for the past several years.

2397: A Klingon task force, under the flag of the House of Korl, move swiftly and put the planet Betazed under siege. The Klingon Empire condones the actions of this fleet, which seems to be acting autonomously. The USS Noralus acts to respond, but is attacked and presumed destroyed in orbit of Betazed. The crew steals aboard a Klingon ship, attempting sabotage. However, after a quick negociation by Starfleet Admiral Hines, the crew is released by the Klingons into Starfleet's custody in exchange for safe passage from Betazed.

Under orders from Starfleet, Commander Grayson takes the command staff of the USS Noralus and begins a secret mission into Klingon space, looking to learn more about this rogue fleet, the House of Korl, and how they can be stopped.
