The Libertas Project.

With the destruction and imminent attack of the ORI, the SGC forces have been spread thin across the galaxy. The ability to search for new races, new weapons, new technology became somewhat limited. Knowing this, the SGC created a project known simply as ‘Libertas’. Its main function to explore new addresses with the brightest minds and best military personnel that was available at that time.

 

Black Gate.

 

After being assigned to their first mission, Captain Hannah Rose assembled her team together. They eagerly stepped through the gate to an address located deep in the horseshoe galaxy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The intel on this particular address revealed that there could possibly be an Ancient outpost there which held technology which may or may not hold the secrets of the destruction of the ORI. Libertas stepped through not knowing exactly what was located on the other side.

Not long after entering the jungle like atmosphere, this happened…

‘Then an eerie sound began to emanate throughout the area. Almost like a whirring. But it was pitching upwards more and more. Hannah looked around her and wondered what it was. 'Everyone...stand guard!' she yelled kneeling down.

The noise beckoned further and further and Hannah grew increasingly worried. Until she realised where it was coming from. The gate itself. The gate was making the noise.

Renee was standing right next to it. She jumped down and ran twenty paces away from the sound until something behind her rang out in the still jungle air.

Hannah only caught a glimpse. Bolt of electricity exploded from the gate in all directions setting her hair on its ends. She jumped just in time as the gate began to spark and send flames of hot ash around the place. The chaos continued for about 5 seconds until the gate stopped making noise and went silent. Slowly she got to her feet and turned around.

'What the hell was that?' she asked.

Renee's BDU's resembled that of someone showered with sparks. She too turned around and looked at the gate. It was completely black, almost like it had been burned from the inside out. She grimaced. 'I don't know Captain, but that' she said pointing to the gate, 'that does not look good...'

Hannah looked for the others who in her team. 'Is everyone ok!' she yelled.’

 

Since that time, Libertas has been stranded in an unknown environment, with unknown aliens and in a race for survival….
